What is ReCaptcha and why should I use it?

Find out what ReCaptcha is used for and if you need it on your online forms.

Google's ReCaptcha is a tool that helps provide a layer of security for your online forms, whether they be contact forms, login forms, or forms of any other type.

You've likely seen some version of ReCaptcha while browsing the internet, whether as a simple "I'm not a robot" checkbox or as a more complex image identification task:

If you want to prevent spam and/or bot submissions from coming into any form, ReCaptcha is one of the best methods to stop them from flooding you with bot entries.

Most web form tools, like Gravity Forms, have a ReCaptcha field that can be added to any form. This field will prevent bots from submitting your form by adding a task that is very difficult for bots to perform.

For more information on ReCaptcha and how to set them up, check out Google's resource on the topic here.
